Faculty-Led Program Abroad - Thailand: October 2023
About the Opportunity
Students in the School of Hospitality & Tourism and Office Administration – Executive (EXS) program have the opportunity to spend three weeks in Bangkok, Thailand this Fall immersing in Thai culture, while learning about the local hospitality industry and eco-friendly alternative tourism.
Delivered in collaboration with the Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM), students will earn a General Education course credit focused on Thai culture, while also taking a Seneca course taught by Seneca professor(s).
Incorporating a variety of field trips and weekend activities, students will enhance their intercultural and employability skills by participating in this incredible opportunity that guarantees personal growth.

Program Details
To be considered for this opportunity, you must complete an application through Seneca which includes a signed outbound student learning agreement.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Full-time students that have not yet earned the approved course equivalencies.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and be in good standing.
- Open to domestic and international students.
Approved Courses:
Upon successful completion of this Faculty-Led Program Abroad, you will earn the following course credits.
*EXS students can take HTM330 as a substitute for IHR511
**HTM330 will begin with the start of the Fall semester and continue post-trip with classes. Students are expected to engage with the course before and after the trip.
***Course will be taught by PIM and transferred as a General Education credit to students in the applicable programs.
Cost of Opportunity
Approximately $4,000
Includes
round trip airfare,
accommodations,
local transportation,
entry fees, and
meals as per program itinerary.
Does not include
Seneca program tuition
applicable visa fees,
meals outside of program itinerary,
personal travel,
souvenirs,
vaccinations required or otherwise.
Travel grant
Eligible students will receive $2,000 - $3,000 in funding from Seneca to help offset the program fee.
