JOB SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the B&F Venues Director, and the B&F Venues Manager you will lead the way to ensure a smooth “flow” for our three new distinct B&F venues. You have mastered your craft in all things beverage and food operations and “pour” your heart and soul into the execution of each venue. CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the food and beverage or related professional area.

OR

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.

  • Experience leading a team and managing multiple venues an asset.

  • SMART SERVE certified, Food Safety and Handling Certification (or equivalent Ontario Approved Certification).

  • +3 years experience working in a high-volume restaurant/outlet/venue.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

 

Managing Day-to-Day Operations

  • Supervises and manages employees. Manages all day-to-day operations. Understands employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence.

  • As a senior leader within the B&F Division, maintain leadership presence within all areas of the B&F Beverage operation. Including but not limited to: o Conducting daily check ins with bartenders and mixologists to ensure the team and operation are set up for success

    • Oversee and manage weekly beverage mise en place preparation for the property.

        o Performing visual spot checks and audits for quality and accuracy as it related to the service and execution of the property beverage
           program.

  • Ensure floor and bar presence during peak business levels.

    1. Implement and oversee preparation and control practices for the successful execution of the beverage operation.

    2. Working as part of the broader hotel team, support various aspects of the business based on evolving business needs.

    3. Participate in VIP and high-profile events as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality with employees, guests, and vendors at all times.

  • Manages all day-to-day operations. Understands employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence.

  • Maintains service and sanitation standards in restaurant, bar/lounge, event spaces, and room service areas.

  • Reviews staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met.

  • Drive business results including but not limited to Employee Engagement Results, Guest Satisfaction Scores, BSA (brand standard quality audits), financial performance, and driving online reputation (Open Table, Google, Yelp, etc.).

 

Leading Food and Beverage Team

  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.

  • Prepares and executes preopening material to support the overall B&F Division as required.

  • Supports the preparation and execution of pre-opening countdown items.

  • Responsible for the planning and execution of beverage related items for the B&F Food Show as part of the opening countdown.

 

  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.

  • Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors.

  • Identifies the developmental needs of others and coaches, mentors, or otherwise helps others to improve their knowledge or skills.

  • Ensures staff understands local, state and Federal liquor laws.

  • Monitors alcohol beverage service in compliance with local laws.

 

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

  • Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.

  • Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.

  • Manages day-to-day operations, ensures the quality, standards and meets the expectations of the customers on a daily basis.

  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations.

  • Manages service delivery in outlets to ensure excellent service from point of entry to departure (e.g., greeting from hostess, speed of order taking and food and beverage delivery, fulfillment of special requests, collection of payment & invitation to return).

  • Provides guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
