Simcoe County Virtual Job Fair
The Work in Simcoe County job fair will be hosted on November 9 from 10am to 2pm, it is a great opportunity for job seekers to meet area companies. The job fair will include almost 100 employers across many industries, hiring for various positions. It will be hosted on an innovative, user-friendly platform called Brazen where job seekers and employers can connect through one-on-one text chat, audio and video.

How can job seekers prepare for a Virtual Job Fair?
Create a strong virtual profile. Ensure your resume is up to date
Research the company or companies you’re interested in working for before the virtual job fair event
Have an introduction and your resume ready! Be prepared to answer questions and ask about the company. You may be interviewed on the spot, so think about and even write down some answers to interview questions you could be asked.
Test out the platform, as well as your audio, visual and internet connection prior to the day of, to ensure everything is working well.
Plan where you will be sitting in advance. Find a quiet spot with a neutral background and good lighting.
Dress like you would for an in-person job fair or job interview to make a good impression on your potential future employer.
Arrive on time for all scheduled meetings or interviews.
Maintain eye contact and practice active listening. Try to smile and nod naturally as you would during an in-person conversation.
Ask questions and follow up. Send a thank you email to those you spoke with at the virtual job fair. This will make you stand out and show the employer that you are interested in working for their company.
