Sean S.
Hi students! My name is Sean Spence, and I am a professor at SOHT currently teaching Guest Security. I am a security practitioner with over 15 years of experience in the hospitality sector, consulting with venues, hotels, music festivals, film festivals, sporting events, business conferences, and other live events. In addition to hospitality, I have extensive corporate security experience working for large publicly traded companies overseeing their employee travel security, executive protection, and crisis management programs. Prior to working in the private sector, I previously served in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) as an infantry officer. I am currently completing my doctorate in Security Risk Management at the University of Portsmouth (U.K.). My research involves examining the perceptions and behaviors of stakeholders within the live events sector regarding security risk management.
I am looking forward to teaching the next generation of leaders in the hospitality sector!
