Rosanne S.
My name is Rosanne Sweeney, I am a Professor for the School of Hospitality and Tourism at Seneca College. I have a diploma in Hotel Management from George Brown College , and have worked in the Hotel industry since 1978. I have been teaching at Seneca College since January 2011 and have loved every aspect of passing on my experiences to the next generation.
I started working in hotels as a part time job after school and fell in love with the industry. Every day is different, so many different people and events made me excited to see what the next day brings. I decided to pursue this career and have not looked back since. I have worked for all of the major hotel chains, Hilton, IHG, Canadian Pacific (now Fairmont) and Marriott.
Not unlike this time we are going through with COVID-19, there were several bumps in the road which forced me to use my experiences and open up new doors and new opportunities like teaching at Seneca College. You just never know where life will take you and I am hoping this industry does the same for you. New and exciting adventures in life.
I am the mother of twin boys who are going through their own college experiences so I can relate to our students and the challenges that they face. I enjoy baking as a part time hobby and feeding my family as I am of Italian heritage and we like to feed people!!
I look forward teaching you all about the Hospitality Industry and sharing my experiences with you.
